The Clean Ports Report Card
Over 31 million Americans live near ports, exposed daily to diesel pollution that fuels asthma, heart disease, and cancer. The Clean Ports Report Card Project, launched by a coalition of community and national groups, grades four pilot ports—San Diego, Houston, New Orleans, and New York/New Jersey—to hold them accountable for using billions in federal funding to deliver cleaner air and shared prosperity.
"Families living near the Port of New York and New Jersey deserve clean air and safe communities. By working with partners to turn complex data into a clear scorecard, we're showing both the progress made and the urgent steps still needed. Zero-emission solutions like shore power can protect our children's health while holding the Port Authority accountable to the people most impacted."

The Clean Ports Report Card Project is a collaboration of national and local partners working to make ports transparent, accountable, and healthier. By centering local voices, it amplifies the perspectives of residents most impacted by port pollution.
